2016 ICGC Fellowships For International Students, USA

ICGC offers ICGC Fellowships that provide financial support for graduate students at the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities. Nominees should have backgrounds and interests that identify them as outstanding students who are clearly committed to the interdisciplinary study of the global south in the context of global change.

‣ They encourage nomination of exceptionally capable students, especially but not only from the global south and groups traditionally underrepresented in graduate education. ICGC offers two types of fellowships as follows:

  • ICGC Scholar Fellowships support outstanding students who are clearly committed to the interdisciplinary study of the global south in the context of global change. They encourage departmental nomination of exceptionally capable students, especially but not only from the global south and U.S. communities of color.
  • ICGC-Mellon Scholar Fellowships support graduate students whose research interests emphasize humanistic and interpretive social science perspectives. Additionally, nominees are expected to conduct their dissertation research in Southern Africa. The fellowships are funded by the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation, and are collaboration between ICGC and the Center for Humanities Research (CHR) at the University of the Western Cape (UWC) in Cape Town, South Africa.
